Yugma & Skype Experience

Yugma

  • I already have Yugma.

Saturday Experience

I could see how challenging was to get ready and how some people had a very hard time to log in. So, what did I learned from this experience?

  • Prepare the session in advanced.
  • Check the tools in advanced.
  • Try a session with a small group.
  • Start the people on the chat and then when everyone is on the chat, give the instructions to join the Skypecast or dial the number to do the conference call.
  • Be patient
  • Have a video tutorial a week in advanced and ask the students to try to set up a call with another class member prior to the group conference.

Glen, thank you for sharing your experience with us.

  1. Sorry I missed your Yugma invite on Tuesday night. I have to remember to set my Skype status when I am away. I see that you got a session going with Brian and Cheryl. Excellent!

  2. We’ve been using Yugma at my office now for a couple of weeks. Its definitely a good alternative to GoToMeeting. Most of us have our own free accounts for impromptu meetings with small groups. We are planning on purchasing a few premium accounts to facilitate are larger meetings.

Glen, if you go to my new PBWiki, you can see my assignments. I like the PBWiki better.

Yes, yesterday I talked to Cheryl with Yugma and we were able to work together on the same page. It was awesome. This is an excellent way to give support. It’s excellent!

  4. I liked reading your account of what you learned from the experience. I did a mental checklist of what I had and hadn’t done and, of course, what I could benefit from doing in the future. All this, also, translates into action within a classroom setting.

  5. Sorry I missed out on the yugma session hope to get in on the next one.
