Getting assignments done
Today, I started to work on some of the assignments and I felt better every time I accomplished something.
- I created a video and uploaded into Google Video. I created this mini video for teachers that need to update their WebPage from the Vincent Massey’s website.
- I updated my PBWiki with the list of all the things I completed.
- I created a Skypecast and I invited the entire class. Check your Skype account and you will receive the message.
- Date: Saturday, November 11th
- Time: 1:30 – 2:00pm
- Name of the Skypecast: ICT-07.598 – Using Social networking in teaching and learning
- Description:
- Think about different topics in different courses we could incorporate social networking.
- How can we implement social networking in teaching?
- How can we make it work?
- I created another blog with blogger. I sure prefer wordpress.com
- I created a comparison table between Google docs and MS Word with google docs.
- I’m creating a script for the “Use of Web based resources in a blended learning situation.”
- I’m getting resources for the final paper.

Good for you Lily. I, unfortunately, took the weekend off. My car, house and yard are “winterized” now and I made enough Jambalaya to last a week. I’m going to have to race to get caught up.
That’s a very useful video. I’m sure your coworkers will appreciate it. I’ll be thinking about the topics for the Skypecast.

Hi Cheryl,
I love your emails. You are always very supportive. I’m going to create mini videos for teachers to use different tools of FrontPage and so for. Some of the teachers do not have a lot of experience with technology so I want to make sure I don’t freak them out.

WOW… I’m out of breath just reading what you have accomplished and what you plan to do… I think I’ll have to quit smoking just to run half the race. I go jogging with my wife, I follow her in the car. Her exercise run is usually 3 smokes long.
PS: I’ll see you in Marathon. I’ll be handing out the water.
So do we have a Skypecast Saturday?

You are pretty funny!
Yes, I will have a Skypecast on Saturday. Hopefully everything works well with technology.

Hi
A very impressive, informative video. What did you use to create it? I will give Google Videos at try, have you used any other video sharing sites? I like the way you are using your wiki. Well Done! My first blog was in Blogger, so I like it also. WordPress has been good, too.
Don’t work too hard.

Hi Janice,
I made the video with AutoScreen. I like it better than Jing. It’s awesome!
I tried to load the video to the teachertube’s website…but men!!! I took a shower, had supper and the video was still uploading. So, I canceled the video and I tried it with Google.
AutoScreen has some shortcut keys so you can stop the video or pause it with a shortcut key. It’s pretty easy!

I watched the video. I think that if I were one of the teachers at your school without too much technology I would certainly not be freaked out by it. It’s very succinct!

Great video. I think many teachers need this type of walk through to get it. You’d be surprized how many teachers cannot follow instructions even with clearly labeled pictures. I have used Jing for my video, which shows the entire screen, however, videos can get really large when not resolving it down to a smaller size and may not run well on all computers.

Anne, thank you for the comment. Yes, now that I did this mini-clip, I’m thinking to create a few mini clips, to guide teachers with their websites.
David, I understand what you are talking about. I’m also thinking to take this video and save it in the share hard drive of the school, so teachers could have access to it from the school. This will avoid the speed problem.
